Analysis of the New York City Department of Education Budget

Please look at your New York City Department of Education Budget.

See http://schools.nyc.gov/Offices/DBOR/AM/default.htm

An analysis shows that there are many different allocations and they seem to vary from year to year.

Program names change and there does not appear to be rigorous consistency in the naming conventions.

The public should require that our New York City Department of Education Budget be in a standard format and placed in our NYC Open Data portal.

This analysis is very fragile because the data for Fiscal Year 2017 - 2018 is spread out over more than 80 PDF files and 160 spreadsheets.  And it appears to be growing.  Last fiscal year there were more than 100 PDF files for allocations.  See http://schools.nyc.gov/offices/d_chanc_oper/budget/dbor/allocationmemo/fy16_17/AM_FY17_pg1.html

Here's a summary of the current state of the New York City Department of Education Budget ordered by amount descending.
